Athena Cosmetics has agreed to pay $4.17 million to resolve allegations about the marketing of certain RevitaLash and RevitaBrow products. Plaintiffs claim the products were marketed as cosmetics but functioned as drugs, without proper warnings, especially about the potential risks and side effects of a particular ingredient in its serums (Dechloro Dihydroxy Difluoro Ethylcloprostenolamide, known as DDDE).
Eligible claimants can choose between a $110 voucher for future Athena Costmetics products or a cash payment.
One cash payment per household is available without proof of purchase. Additionals payments or choosing a voucher and a payment require proof of purchase.
