Overview

This class action settlement resolves allegations that Community First Medical Center, Inc. (CFMC) failed to adequately protect the sensitive personal and health information of its patients. The lawsuit stems from a cybersecurity incident that occurred on or about July 12, 2023, in which an unauthorized third party accessed CFMC’s network. The compromised data included names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account information, and medical records. CFMC has agreed to establish a $1 million settlement fund to provide cash payments, expense reimbursements, and credit monitoring to affected individuals.
