The Robodebt Class Action Appeal Settlement provides $548.5 million in new compensation to be paid to victims of the Robodebt scheme initiated by the Australian Commonweatlh. This is in addition to the $112 million already paid in the first class action and the $1.8 billion in Robodebts already cancelled by the first class action.
The amounts from the first class action settlment and this appeal total more than $2.4 billion, the largest class action settlement in Australia's legal history.

Eligibility

You may be eligible if you were a member of the original Robodebt class action or were in a close personal relationship with a deceased victim where the government's assertion of Robodebt contributed to their death.

You qualified for benefits under the original Robodebt class action

You were in a close personal relationship with a Member of Groups 1-3 from the original Robodebt class action who died because of the assertion of a Robodebt

You may be a group member of this appeal class action, even if you opted out of the first class action, if you complete a Notice of Reinstatement and register to participate in the settlement by 4 pm (AEST) on March 6, 2026.
