The University of St. Thomas has agreed to a proposed settlement over a data incident that happened between July 25, 2025, and August 12, 2025. Documented disclosure of sensitive personal information is worth $100. Documented ordinary losses are worth up to $500, and documented fraud or identity theft can be worth up to $4,500. If you would rather not gather paperwork, you can take a flat $50 cash payment instead.
You can also choose three years of credit monitoring and identity theft insurance with at least $1 million of coverage. Claims are due September 28, 2026. Exclusion requests and objections are both due August 28, 2026. The final approval hearing has not been scheduled, and the settlement site will post the date once it is set.
